Being fit on the outside=being fit on the inside

Exercise strengthens the digestive system and promotes peristalsis.  The lymphatic system requires body movement and deep breathing in order to enhance its circulation throughout the body. When we exercise, our heart pumps blood through the body more efficiently carrying oxygen and nutrients to the cells and pulling toxins out of the cells.During excessive exercise (especially for athletes), it is important to supply the body with anti-oxidants because of oxidative stress that can occur.

Exercise is good for the body, but did you know that it can create oxidative stress?
Our bodies aren't meant to work hard without protection. This is where nutrients come into play.

Antioxidants!

Antioxidants are important to portect the body from oxidation that occurs in everyday life and occasionally in excess. Antioxidants absorb free radicals that cause this oxidation.
When exercising, the body ceates a normal amount of oxidation processes which is not a concern unless the body doesn't get enough nutrients such as Vitamin C, E, alpha-lipoic acid flavonoids, polyphenols, carotenoids and many others. These are ANTI- OXIDATION nutrients. They protect the body from the bad guys, so to speak. The foods that contain these nutrients are the dark green, yellow, orange. red, and even pink fruits and veggies. However cabbage with it's light color is also a good choice.

Water!

Water, water, water!  The more you exercise the more you will need!

Use the "8 glasses a day" as a rule of thumb and drink more especially on hot days!
Filtered water is important. Water is meant to hydrate, cleanse and aid metabolic processes. The body opperates best with pure water.

Consider Raw

Raw fruits and vegetables contain a surplus of enzymes and nutrients that heat has not destroyed. Enzymes is one of those important substances that the body needs for repair and protection. Raw (especailly organic) produce will be more dense in enymes and nutrients and will help to provide the antioxidants in the diet.

Supplements!

Supplements that are helpfull for the joints are glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM, shark cartilidge and hyaluronic acid to name a few.

However, eating a clean and nutrient dense diet full of omega 3's detoxifies the body and helps to protect joints in the first place.
